The Legend Tells

The legend tells that long ago, there lived two young people: Vesuvius was a knight of a violent and impulsive nature, while his beloved, Capri, was a young woman of gentle and calm disposition.

Despite being complete opposites, they were irresistibly attracted to each other. Love transformed Vesuvius, who in the presence of his beloved became the kindest among men.

Day by day, their bond grew stronger, and they eventually vowed eternal love and decided to marry.

However, the ancient enmity between their families was well-known; despite prayers, promises, and pleas, Capri's family would not accept the marriage and, to end the idyll between the two, decided to ship the girl off to a foreign land.

Such was the sad fate of Capri, who, far from her love Vesuvius, felt her soul being torn away. Then came the desperate decision: after a brief prayer, she threw herself into the waves, into the sad embrace of death, unable to bear even a day without her beloved.

And it is there, where the young woman had met her death, that an azure and verdant island would rise: the island of Capri.
